The Vineyards

Bishops Bishops
Since 1871, six generations of Bishop's have been serving Connecticut with farm products. Bishop's Orchards Winery offers their own wine & other fine Connecticut wines 7 days a week. Bishop's Orchards Winery has taken the superb reputation and flavor of Bishop's Sweet Apple Cider and aged it into wine with a fresh, fruity bouquet. Other specialty wines created by Bishop’s blend flavors of other fruits we grow: peaches, pears and raspberries, as well as honey and spices to delight the palette.

Situated in the historic town of Guilford, with its beautiful 7.7 acre green, surrounded by historic homes, churches and shops, Bishop’s is a perfect destination to be followed by a visit to the oldest stone house in CT, the Henry Whitfield State Museum. (After which is named our Stone House White Wine).

Open Year Round, Monday-Saturday till 7 pm, and Sundays till 6 pm (closed major Holidays) the Farm Market features our bakery & kitchen specializing in pies, soups & prepared meal solutions, produce from our 300 acre farm & around the world, meats, cider, cheese, dairy products, flowers, fruit baskets, gift and apple packs (shipped in US). Pick Your Own Fruits are available from June till October, with strawberries, blueberries, peaches, pears, apples, raspberries & pumpkins. Apple cider donuts are a specialty year round. Kids love to watch our train and visit our Llamas, Alpacas & Goats too!

Phone and Web orders are welcome and shipping is available to most states. Call for details (866) 2BISHOP.

The apple and fruit essences delight the palette, complementing chocolate, cheesecake, shortbread cookies, Bishop’s Orchards Bakery Fruits of the Farm Pie or Apple Crisp.

  • Strawberry Delight ~ Strawberry Dessert Wine
Growing on our fertile soils near the banks of the West River that flows into Long Island Sound, our strawberries develop their rich flavor. At the peak of ripeness, their juice was extracted and then transformed into a succulent, aromatic and rich dessert wine at our farm winery. The true essence of the strawberry explodes on the palate, complementing a wide variety of desserts, including drizzled as a topping.

  • Faulkner's Spiced Apple ~ Apple Wine with spices
Bishop's Orchards Farm Winery has taken the superb reputation and flavor of Bishop's Sweet Apple Cider and aged it into a semi-dry spiced apple wine. The mulling spices add a delightful essence to the apple bouquet, to enjoy before or after dinner. Cheddar, brie and smoked cheeses are great companions. Also enjoy it heated: serve hot to enjoy Bishop's Spiced Apple Wine on cold winter days.
